How to Wash White Rings on Furniture

Wood furniture brings a rich, warm glow to your decor, but if a guest place a glass on timber with no hammer, it can leave a white ring. These telltale glass marks are a result of moisture. When you leave a hot or cold beverage to a wooden surface, the moisture in the glass gets trapped under the wood’s finish. Luckily, any one of numerous cleaning techniques can make white rings evaporate.

Dry a stain which is less than 2 days old with a hair dryer. Put the dryer on low and aim it at the ring, moving it back and forth to keep the heat from damaging the timber. Since the moisture evaporates, the ring should evaporate.

Dip a white rag to a dab of mayonnaise. Rub the mayonnaise into the stain and allow it to set for 2 hours. Wipe it away with a soft fabric.

Mix 1 tablespoon baking soda or one teaspoon salt with enough water to produce a paste. Rub the paste gently to the ring with a soft fabric. Wipe it off using a damp — but not moist — fabric.

Rub a few drops of lemon oil to the ring with a soft fabric. Buff the ring quite gently with a 0000 steel-wool pad.

Apply a coat of furniture polish after removing the ring to protect the wooden surface, especially in the event that you’ve used steel wool, salt or baking soda. Spray the shine onto the timber and buff it with a soft fabric.
